The guided tour to the Chapel of Saint-Jacques-des-Allemands offers an immersion into the history and traditions of the Val d'Ayas. Located in the ancient Walser settlement known as Canton des Allemands, the chapel is at the entrance of a historic communication route that connected the valley to the Colle delle Cime Bianche and, via the Teodulo, to Switzerland. During the visit, you will discover the chapel's architectural and artistic peculiarities. Soapstone, quarried locally, was used since ancient times to make everyday and decorative objects, and the remains of this work can still be seen in the village and in the chapel itself.
