The village of Antagnod, in the municipality of Ayas, is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and enjoys a beautiful panorama of Monte Rosa. The church of San Martino with its imposing and precious Baroque altar is worth a visit. Next to the church, an interesting museum of sacred art has been set up in the cemetery chapel of Antagnod, dating back to the end of the 15th century. Among the various works on display, the museum preserves the Vierge Ouvrante (Madonna Scrigno) found inside the Antagnod parish church and dating back to the mid 14th century, a very rare statue depicting a Virgin enthroned with the Child standing on her left knee.
