Route description:
Departure at 8.30 a.m. - Piazzale di Estoul. After a short stretch on a farm track, we descend to the beautiful village of Lavassey, where the valley opens out between pastures and alpine meadows. The mule track intersects with a dirt track to become the path that will take us to the Merendioux alp, the famous Barma del Film, a very panoramic point over the wide Palasina valley. Continuing on, we reach other alpine pastures, to return to the opposite side of the valley and thus have another view of the wide Palasina basin. The route includes a packed lunch, prepared by ‘Il Pranzo di Babette’, another location featured in the film, and carried by mule during the hike.
